May Tsai: Smithfield, North Carolina, United States; Ms. May is an Asian American. She was born originally in Jia-yi, Taiwan. She completed her undergraduate education before moving to the United States in 1990. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Pathology from National Taiwan University and an Elementary Education Degree from Taipei Municipal University of Education. She completed her graduate training in the area of educating students with behavioral/emotional disorders in 1994 at Purdue University, Indiana. It was while at Purdue that Ms. May gave birth to her second child and since then has been a very busy house mom, raising four children. Neuse Charter School is her first full time teaching position in the United States. She enjoys working with children and looks forward to serving at the school and in the community for the years to come.
