Middle School Chinese Course Syllabus


COURSE DESCRIPTION
There is no requirement for textbooks or workbooks. However, the lessons will mainly derive from Exploring Chinese (EMC) and Huanying Vol. I (cheng-tsai).  No prior exposure to Chinese language is required.  The emphasis in this class is to develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills using both Pinyin phonetic system and traditional Chinese characters.

Topics that are intended to cover through the semester are:
Greetings and Expressions of Courtesy; Our School and Classrooms; Geography of China; My neighborhood
The vocabulary will be handed out on Monday and Friday will be quiz day.

The proposed project writing will include the topics of:  Introduction of me and my family, My favorite subject, My favorite city of China, and My dream job.
